The LG G2 mini has a lot to prove being the little heir to a very capable battery performer in the face of the LG G2. The G2 recently received Android KitKat and soared from a 62 hour endurance rating to an 82 hour one.
The G2 mini has the advantage of Android KitKat right from the get go so we’re hoping the stellar work by LG has been transferred here as well. To G2 mini has a much smaller 2,440 mAh battery (compared to the G2′s massive 3,000 mAh juice pack) but the mini also brings a smaller, lower-res display (4.7″ qHD), lower-grade Snapdragon 400 processor with battery-saving Cortex-A7s inside. So let’s look at the numbers.
Talk time on the LG G2 mini proved an excellent 18:11 hours, which is quite cool. The Galaxy S4 mini got whole 5 hours less.

Being a great smartphone involves being a great tool for browsing the web more and more. In our web browsing test the G2 mini was able to pull off a very good 11 hours endurance. It was 40 minutes shy of the G2 and easily outdid the Galaxy S4 mini and the HTC One mini.

And finally video playback. The G2 managed almost 10 hours and a half playing a movie, which is way better than the HTC One mini but falling short of both the G2 and the Galaxy S4 mini’s 13 hours of runtime. Either way, this will more than allow you to fill those moments at an airport or at a tedious meeting (where you should be paying attention, mind you).

Adding the three tests to the stand-by the G2 mini achieved an endurance rating of 76 hours. This is the interval between charges if you perform an hour of calling, browsing and video-watching daily and it’s a very impressive score. The G2 mini trumps the 54 hour Galaxy S4 mini and embarrasses the 40 hour HTC One mini. So this is the best-performing mini we’ve tested so far – and that is even if we count in the iPhones – kudos LG!
