Russia has seen a boon in tablet use.

According to the research firm, IDC, tablet sales have more than doubled in the region for the year of 2013.

The total tablet market grew 108%, with market value increasing 66.8%. This brings the total tablet market value to $2.77 Billion for 2013.

The two top tablet players in Russia are, you guessed it, Samsung and Apple. Although Samsung trumps the Cupertino-based tech giant in tablet use (20% of all tablets delivered are Samsung models, whereas 16% are Apple), Apple has earned the most in the region from its tablet sales.

Android tablets are the most widely used models in Russia, with 7” screens being the most popular models as well.

There’s been no word on Vladimir Putin’s tablet of choice.
