- Twitter now lets you tag photos
Twitter recently added a couple of new features to its mobile apps, one being the ability to upload up to four photos at once, and tag as many as 10 people in them.
But that’s not all. Reports have surfaced of some changes being experimented with in the interface, including renaming the characteristic retweet button with ‘share’.
While the actual retweeting functionality remains the same, you are now prompted to either share directly, or add a comment beforehand.
Twitter says its incorporating these new simpler terms in an effort to make the app more accessible, as their “scaffolding” approach tends to turn off newer users. On the flip side, however, the one of the biggest concerns Twitter users have had is their device turning into a copy of Facebook, and a shift to “share”-ing would certainly be a step in that direction.
Either way, Twitter has been known to reverse unpopular decisions in the past based on user feedback. Speaking of which, do you think ‘share’ is the way to go, or is retweet too representative of the service to just let go.
